Almost one out of four million people excluded from the NRC list include Bengali Hindus. The BJP will look to pacify this bloc for they not only maintain demographic balance in Lower Assam and Barak valley, but also to calm frayed nerves in Bengali Hindu-majority Bengal and Tripura.
