About 12,000 Facebook employees may lose jobs in Meta's 'quiet layoffs': report
Meta is reportedly conducting 'quiet layoffs' at Facebook that may lead to thousands of job cuts -- at least 12,000 or about 15% of its workforce. According to a report in Insider, the senior executives are in the process of executing "quiet layoffs" of underperforming workers. Several employees told Insider that as much as 15 per cent of the workforce could be cut within the next few weeks.

Elon Musk offered to buy Twitter at a lower price in recent talks
Musk sought a discount of as much as 30%, three of the people said, a proposal that would have valued the company at roughly $31 billion. Twitter rebuffed the proposal, said the people, who requested anonymity because the talks were confidential. In the past week, however, discussions narrowed to a discount of about 10%, which would have allowed Musk to pay about $39.6 billion for Twitter.

Apollo, Sixth Street no longer in talks to finance Elon Musk's Twitter deal
Earlier this year, Apollo was in talks to provide preferred equity financing for the deal, alongside Sixth Street, sources had previously told Reuters. Apollo, Sixth Street and other investors were looking to commit over $1 billion in financing for the deal at the time. Those talks ended months ago around the time Musk started having second thoughts about going through with the deal, the sources cited above said.
