Amazon's minimum wage for hourly employees in the U.S. remains $15, a spokesperson told Reuters. The online retailer's decision also comes as some workers continue to push to unionize Amazon facilities in the United States. Only one Amazon facility has voted to unionize so far.

Amazon urges US call centre staff to work from home, plans closings
Amazon started letting customer service representatives work from home before the pandemic. Its cloud computing division sells Amazon Connect software that helps companies create remote customer service networks. Amazon has call centers around the US, including in Kennewick and Phoenix that each employ hundreds of workers. Still, call center employees make up a small fraction of the company’s more than 1.5 million workers.

IT hardware PLI purse may zoom 2.5 times to Rs 19,000 crore
According to a draft of the revised scheme — PLI for IT Hardware 2.0 — which is set to be circulated to major stakeholders for feedback, the restructured scheme will now offer incentives of 4-5.75% over five years, against 1-4% over a tenure of four years at present, officials aware of the matter told ET. Its financial outlay will touch about Rs 19,000 crore from Rs 7,350 crore, they said.
